For Asha, how about Barbara Stanwyck? Although the coloring is wrong (but maybe that could be less of a problem if there are some black-and-white pictures where her hair appears darker), and finding shorter hair pictures may be a problem for all actresses of that era, she has the right persona and the right look – sexy but not conventionally beautiful, with a nose similar to how Asha’s is described.

I hadn’t thought about Barbara but thinking about it for a minute that’s probably as close to Asha as I’m going to get, persona-wise (and yes the nose! I would hate to choose somebody without the right nose honestly, nose representation is important u_u). Pre-code Barbara would work especially well, or at least it would be easier to find fitting pics, she used to have shorter and darker hair –> 

(I do darken/lighten the hair a bit if necessary, because I’m anal about these details, but it feels kind of wrong to do that tbh. I did it with Lauren too, and am going to do it with the next fancast). It’s really a matter of choosing the right picture after all, for instance, this would work a lot better for Asha than Barbara’s more usual 40′s glamour shots:
