Loved your ASoIaF old Hollywood fancast! Any possible roles for a young Marlon Brando?

Thank you šŸ˜€ Mmmh, I haven’t thought of anything for Marlon yet, but let’s see. Maybe Brandon? (not just because of the name, I swear) He definitely has the cocky attitude. Otherwise maybe Daemon Blackfyre, although he’s not very Targ looking (then again, very few o.h. actors are). Is he a bit too beefy for Loras? I think that could work to if you use the right pictures (i.e. nothing from Streetcar) (My knee-jerk reaction for Loras would be Randolph Scott, but that’s only because I casted Cary Grant as Renly, Randolph is not particularly Loras-y.Ā

They are so cute together though.)

is your classic hollywood actors strictly supposed to be from hollywood? because i think bollywood actress mumtaz or sharmila tagore are perfect for arianne!

Hi! The reason I chose to make it an old Hollywood fancast as opposed to just an old cinema one was essentially because it’s easier for me. Seriously, I’m reeeeally ignorant when it comes to non-American classic films (and I shouldn’t be, like, my own country is somewhat famous for having produced Good Classic Films and I’ve seen maybe 4 of them, I suck), so it just makes it easier for me to know who to cast and where to find the right footage (or just to find footage at all, really). But this self-imposed rule makes things harder for some characters, especially the Martells, since old Hollywood was a racist shit hole, so I’ve been tempted to break it (there’s one particular Mexican actress who would be great for Arianne imo, but she’s only ever starred in Mexican films so I’m torn). Back to your suggestions, a young Sharmila Tagore would be a perfect Arianne actually (Mumtaz has a sweeter look, more Elia-like imo). Seriously, look at this:Ā

So I might consider breaking the pattern šŸ™‚ I would need to watch some of her films and educate myself about old Bollywood a little first though.Ā

I really like your blog’s aesthetic, it’s really pleasing to scroll through. Also I really like your ASOIAF posts, I just recently finished ADWD so now I have a Game of Thrones void I need to fill before the next book comes out.

Thank you šŸ˜€ Really glad you enjoy it. I’m working on a new fancast right now actually, it’s essentially finished so I’ll be posting it shortly. I finished ADWD last September myself (exactly a year ago I was essentially reading asoiaf 24/7, lol), so I understand your pain. But hey, at least your Big Wait will be a year shorter than mine, and more importantly, these books are so gargantuan that there’s an endless supply of analyses, theories and fanart to keep you busy šŸ™‚
