Yes, I mentioned that, but I don’t know, somehow it just feels more natural to age up Sansa (or Marg) than Arya? Also Moira Shearer could pass for younger than she was in most of the pics I used (she was 22 in almost all of them I think), so there’s that. But hey, I might just do a grownup!Arya like I intend to do with the more “”doomed”” children. (Thank you again <3)

Your asoiaf old hollywood fancast is amazing! will you be doing one for Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, and Jon Snow?
Thank you anon, I’m glad you like it 😀 I haven’t decided on a fancast for those three yet (well, I have an idea for Jon but I’m not 100% sure about it), but I will definitely do them as soon as I can think of something. Arya is the most difficult one among these three because she’s a child (well, Dany and Jon are teens as well but I think it would still work if I aged them up a bit as I did for Sansa and Margaery) and there weren’t many (decent) child actors in old Hollywood. I found one for Shireen but Virginia Weidler is basically one of two or three o.h. child actors I can stomach, so it’s a bit different. Still, if I manage to find a match I will definitely do one for her 🙂 (suggestions are always, always welcome)
i love love love love looooooooove your *Asoiaf Old Hollywood fancast* loooooove it.
Thank you, I’m glad you like it 😀 It’s still ongoing, I have a backlog of about 6 fancasts I’m already 100% sure about, plus a lot of maybes. Suggestions are very welcome of course 🙂
Hello Lauri, I’m researching Moira Shearer. Do you recall where you found the image of her with the veil and guipure lace? Thanks Dai
Hi! It’s a screencap from The Red Shoes, it’s the scene at the train station and you can find that particular shoot at around 43:34 as you can see here:

(the quality is awful here because I moved my hd version to my external drive and I’m not at home at the moment, if you need an hd cap let me know and I can get you one tomorrow evening or on Tuesday 🙂 )
May I suggest Omar Sharif as Oberyn Martell
Hi anon 🙂 That’s actually a great idea, Omar (rip ç_ç) would be great and I don’t have anyone for Oberyn yet, so why not? If I’m not mistaken he started working in Hollywood in the 60′s, which barely qualifies as old hollywood the way it’s usually defined around here, but I could make an exception 🙂 (still looking for a good fit for Arianne, suggestions welcome)
Hey there, I love your old Hollywood asoiaf fan cast series! It combines two things I love, asoiaf and classic films. Will you ever do any more? Maybe Gene Tierney as Maragery?
Hi! Thank you so much, I’m glad you like it 🙂 And yay for old hollywood + asoiaf fans, all twelve of us! 😀
I’m definitely going to do more, I was thinking of doing Renly in the next few days when I have time (the thing is, I’m supposed to be working on my portfolio right now, oops). The next ones will be Melisandre, Catelyn and Stannis probably, basically I don’t have the whole “cast” yet, but from time to time I find a match I like and I leave it for a few days to see if I really am convinced, then I proceed to do the graphic.
As for Margaery, I definitely have a few ideas for her, actually the problem in this case is that I have too many options. I have thought about Anne Baxter, Jeanne Crain, Ann Blyth and Linda Darnell (I have so many pics of her with flowers, it feels like a waste not to use them lol). Gene Tierney could work too (you’re not the first one to suggest her for Marg, a friend of mine also thought of her), but I might feel that way because she sorta looks somewhat like Natalie Dormer? I dunno, I try to look for people who are more book-compliant as it were, I’ll have to think about it 🙂
Hi there ! lovely blog =) I just saw your Jean Arthur birthday post and that first picture of her as a child is new to me ! She looks so cute. I was wonderling where you found it, and if you would mind posting a full version. Thank you so much.
Aww, thanks Anon, I’m really glad you like it 😀
The picture is from Vermilye’s book on Jean, here’s a link to the preview of the book on google books, the photo is on page 2. Fun fact: it was taken by Jean’s father, who was a photographer.
And here it is uncropped:
