The Filter
To the left of the View Only button, there
is a filter button (it looks like a funnel). Click on this and select
“Create new temporary filter view” to activate the filters on the
spreadsheet so you can choose the criteria you want to narrow down your

UNDEAD: Character is sentient but undead or resurrected by other means; Catelyn Tully, Robert Strong.

Amoral: Character is not restrained by right and wrong; Qyburn.
Amputee: Character has lost an arm, hand, foot or leg; Donal Noye.
Blind: Character cannot see; Maester Aemon.
Clubfoot: Character was born with a clubfoot; Mollander.
Craven: Character is more cowardly than cautious; Samwell Tarly.
Crippled: Character was injured or born with a lame leg; Willas Tyrell.
Deaf: Character cannot hear; Dick Follard.
Deformed: Character suffers from a grotesque deformity; Rhaego.
Disfigured: Character has a severe wound or scar on their face; Brienne of Tarth.

One-Eyed: Character has lost one eye; Mors Umber.
Paralysed: Character has lost the use of the bottom half of their body; Bran Stark.
Sadistic: Character is notably cruel and takes pleasure in the suffering of others; any Brave Companion.
Senile: Character is old and losing their wits; Archmaester Walgrave.
Sickly: Character has a weak constitution or suffers from constant illness; Robert Arryn.
Simple: Character suffers from learning and mental difficulties; Hodor.
Smells: Character gives off a bad smell; Reek.
Stutter: Character has a speech impediment; Wallace Waynwood.
Temper: Character is known to fly off in a rage; Lyn Corbray.
Unstable: Character is suffering from severe mood swings; Lysa Tully.Watchlist
Prominent, significant or theory-worthy characters to watch out for
in The Winds of Winter. This way you can filter out all the less
relevant characters and focus on those who are more likely to matter
when the new book is released;
- Characters with a Point-of-View chapters
- Characters who are still connected to a PoV character
- Characters in key positions of power
- Characters in control of or commanding military assets
- Characters whose stories are “not done yet”
- Characters appearing or mentioned several times and recently throughout the five novels
- Owners, wielders and forgers of Valyrian Steel
- Dragons and direwolves
