Happy Birthday Irene Dunne (December 20, 1898 – September 4, 1990)

“Don’t say “No” too quickly or you’ll cheat yourself out of more than you save yourself.“  – Irene Dunne

“Her timing was marvelous. She was so good that she made comedy look easy. If she’d made it look as difficult as it really is, she would have won her Oscar.” – Cary Grant

“The Irene I know is as vague as the absent-minded professor – and as adroit. She´s casual as a Noel Coward heroine and as conscientious as a Salvation Army missionary. She´s as fragile as Dresden and as strong as steel.” – Loretta Young

Happy birthday Eileen Evelyn Greer Garson!

(September 29, 1904 – April 6, 1996)

Actors are so lucky. Just think, instead of being in show business we might all have been accountants, struggling with people’s income tax. We might have been auditors or rent collectors. We might have been orthodontists or something like that and working with a rather serious and sad part of life. Instead of that we are the laughter makers and we celebrate the joy of life and spread it around and that’s wonderful and we enjoy it very much.
