So I saw Casablanca on the big screen (for free :D) yesterday evening. Isabella fucking Rossellini was there too!!!!???? She introduced the film and was asked a few questions (ps: she used to have a Casablanca mug where she drank her cappuccino in the morning but it broke and she hasn’t been able to find a similar one yet). It was CROWDED. Like, I was there an hour and a half early and still couldn’t find a free seat so I had to sit on the floor (hence why I don’t have a better picture of Izzy, she’s the white blob you can see on stage next to the guy’s head btw)

hepburny:

“Here’s looking at you, kid" wasn’t drafted in the screenplay but was improvised by Humphrey Bogart in the Parisian scenes. It worked so well that it was used later on again in the film (used four times in total). He originally used the same line in Midnight (1934). It was voted the fifth most memorable line in cinema in AFI’s 100 Years…100 Movie Quotes by the American Film Institute.
